The garden decides the menu
At Moraea Farm, about four kilometres from Berry village on Coolangatta Road, there is a market garden that sets the pace for everything that happens in the kitchen beside it.
That kitchen belongs to Sara Dining, the restaurant located at Moraea Farm in Berry, NSW. Fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown metres from the pass. When something arrives in abundance, it does not get rationed across a fixed menu. It becomes the reason for a dish.
Chef Alex Prichard runs the kitchen. Before Berry, he spent seven years as Culinary Director of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, one of Sydney’s most recognised restaurants. What he cooks here is harder to file under a cuisine. It starts with what is ready, works through a wood-fired oven and an Argentinian parrilla, and lands on the table in generous shared plates rather than precise individual ones.
Produce the garden cannot supply comes from growers, fishers, farmers and makers along the South Coast and a little further afield. The wine list follows the same logic: small-production Australian bottles alongside carefully chosen imports, weighted towards producers who farm with genuine care.

A working farm, not a backdrop
Beyond the market garden, Moraea Farm keeps Highland cows, goats, sheep and chickens. It is a farm estate first and a restaurant address second, which is what gives Sara Dining its particular sense of place.
Guests can enjoy a farmyard encounter, collecting fresh eggs, take part in feeding and getting up close to the farm’s goats and Highland cows. *Subject to availability

Where the name comes from

Stay in the village, dine at the farm
Here is the part worth reading twice, because the two halves of this experience sit in two different places.
Sara Dining is at Moraea Farm
450b Coolangatta Road, Berry NSW 2535, roughly a five minute drive from Berry’s main street.
The accommodation is not at the farm
Stay & Dine guests stay in a Rubus or Maple Suite in Berry village, on Albert Street and Edward Street, around 400 metres and a flat five minute walk from the shops. The village suites sit about 4.5 kilometres from Moraea Farm, a 5 minute drive.
A Suite is a two bedroom, two bathroom configuration of a full Linnaeus Collection residence, taken on an exclusive-use basis. Remaining bedrooms are locked. There are no other occupants, no shared corridors and no reception desk. Guests have full access to the living areas, kitchen, garden and heated pool.
The short drive between the two is part of how the experience unfolds. Arrive in Berry with time to settle into your residence before making your way to Moraea Farm for a long lunch or dinner at Sara Dining. Transfers in the Linnaeus Collection Volkswagen fleet are available for all guests (fees apply). We recommend they are booked in advance via Sara Dining.
Guests who would rather sleep on the farm itself can request a stay at Moraea Farm or Linnaeus Farm directly. Those are separate bookings, arranged directly via phone or email.

Why a Sunday, Monday or Thursday
Stay & Dine offer is available on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.
Berry has been one of the South Coast’s most loved weekend destinations for a long time, and a three time NSW Gold winner for Best Town between 2022 and 2024. The village is busy on a Saturday. It is a different proposition on a Monday morning, when the shops are calm, the Boongaree parkland is quiet and the escarpment walks belong to whoever turned up.
For guests travelling from Sydney, Berry is approximately two hours south. Nowra is twenty minutes further, Seven Mile Beach is eight kilometres away, and the drive between the village and the farm is all rolling green dairy farm fields.
